Arizona Coach Lute Olson
Since Lute Olson and his staff have
come to the University of Arizona, Wildcat bBasketball has been one of the most popular
events in the southwest. The Wildcats umped back into the national spotlight in 1988 when,
for the first time in Univeersity of Arizona history, they wre ranked #1 most of the
season. AAn appearance in the Final Four in 1988 and 1994 and a Naitonal Championship last
year established the Wildcats as a national basketball power.
Now you, your friends and your team can learn basketball fundamentals addn technigques
which are actually taught to the current Wildcat basketball players.
"Coach of the Year" has almost become a first name for Lute Olson. Officially,
he gained everyone's distinction as Pacific 10 Conference Coach of the Year in 1986,
guiding the Wildcats, who were picked for eight place to their first league title adn a
second consecutive NCAA appearance. He did it again with the 1988,1989 & 1993 and 1994
teams. Unofficially, the first title was bestowed upon Olson his first year in the Pac-10,

What is the Individual
Camp?
Weeks 1, 2 & 3 will be for students entering grades 3-12 in the
fall of 1999.
The goal of the Lute Olson Wildcat
Basketball Camp is to provide campers with the opportunity to improve their basketball
skills. This improvementt is accomplished by teaching solid fudamentals to each
participant. During the week these fudamentals will be stressed in drills and implemented
into games. Camp Coaches recognize the value of good fudamentals and work hard on them
each day with their players.
The Individual camp includes offensive and defensive drills, one-on-one, three-on-three,
and five-on-five situations. Rebounding, ball-handling, passing, individual defense, free
throw shooting and jump shooting will all be covered thoroughly during the week. Each
camper will have his jump shot videotaped and individually critiqued by a camp staff
member.
Our goal at the individual camp is to expose the camper to tthe game's fudamentals. The
one week experience will provide an oppurtunity for participants to have fun and to leave
our camp a better basketball player.

preparation for the individual and team for the upcoming basketball season.
Independent campers will be placed on a team according to age and skill level. (limited
space available for independent campers.)

tto expose the camper to game situations and competition. This experience will provide
